What is your minimum cut?
Our minimum cut is a Fat Quarter, which measures 50 × 55 cm (19.6 × 21.6 inches).
If you'd like more fabric, simply add multiple units to your cart — they will be cut as a single continuous piece:
- ½ Meter — add 2 units
- 1 Meter — add 4 units
Please note: for fabric stocked from the US, a Fat Quarter measures 18 × 22 inches (45.7 × 55.8 cm).
What are 108s?
108s are extra-wide fabrics measuring 108 inches (274 cm) across. Their width makes them ideal for quilt backing, as they eliminate the need to piece together multiple fabric widths to reach your desired size. They’re also well suited to a range of home décor projects, including curtains and tablecloths.
What payment methods are accepted at The Quilting Owl?
We accept credit and debit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay. Simply choose your preferred method at checkout.
What are the shipping options and costs for orders placed at The Quilting Owl?
UK Shipping
- Orders over £60 get free 2nd class shipping
- Upgrade to 1st class at checkout for an extra fee
- Orders over 20kg incur an additional weight surcharge

⚠️ Please note: We do not ship internationally. We currently only accept and fulfil orders for delivery within the United Kingdom.
What if the item I want is out of stock?
If an item is currently out of stock, you can sign up for restock notifications using the “Notify Me When Available” button on the product page. You’ll receive an email as soon as it’s back.
Alternatively, we may be able to arrange a pre-order — most items are restocked and ready to ship within a week. Please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
How long will delivery take?

Once your order has been dispatched, a tracking number will be added to your account. Log in and visit My Orders to follow the progress of your parcel.

How can I check the status of my order?
Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information. You can also log in to your account at any time and visit My Orders to view your order status, tracking details, and estimated delivery date.
Can I change or cancel an order?
We’re happy to update or amend your order, provided the request is made before 4 pm on the day it is due to ship. Please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help.
Can I combine multiple orders to save on shipping?
Yes — if you place more than one order on the same day and they are ready to ship before 4 pm, we can combine them for you. Please contact us as soon as possible after placing your orders and we’ll arrange this for you.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available to purchase directly from our store and make a wonderful present for any quilter. They can be used towards any order at The Quilting Owl.
What is The Quilting Owl's return policy for online purchases?
We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. Here’s what you need to know about returns:
- Fabric items can be returned — refunds are issued once the item is received back at our facility
- Patterns and books are not eligible for returns due to copyright laws
- Initial shipping charges are non-refundable
- Return postage is not covered unless the item is faulty
- Please contact us before sending anything back to ensure a smooth return process
How should I wash my fabric?
We recommend following these care guidelines to keep your fabric in the best condition:
- Machine wash cold with similar colours
- Do not use bleach
- Do not dry clean
- Tumble dry on a medium heat and remove promptly
- Press with a warm iron
- Use a colour catcher to prevent colour transfer
